New Web Trends – When nothing seems impossible

Posted by. farabi disrupt. July 27, 2019

Think about a few years back when we used our phone only for communication, taking pictures or playing games. Now everything has changed. You don’t even wait for the long queue to order your favourite cheeseburger. You can use your fingertip a few times and food will be at your home within a few minutes. You can move around the city by using ride-sharing services. Even some social media platforms allow users to use user-generated content so that it becomes more user-oriented.

When it comes to technology, everything is unpredictable and variable. What is popular today may not last in the long run. Technology evolves at a lightning pace. We have only passed 6 months of this year, and 2019 already presents itself as an unfamiliar upgrade of 2018.

1.    Progress Web App (PWA)

One recent survey shows that people are turning away from Android or iOS apps, because not all app experiences are satisfying or worthwhile. If you take a look at the apps installed on your phone, you will find you don’t use most of them anymore, and some of them only work really well when you are online.  Most of the native apps take a huge amount of your precious disk space and others waste your internet data. Progress Web Application is a web app, but better. The PWA applications load like web pages or websites but with a high level of functionality. It ensures reliable, instant and independent experience for users without any issues. On top of that, it is user-friendly, hassle-free and the user can use it anywhere. One of the best parts of PWA is that users can use it without an internet connection, low connectivity or in 2G internet connection.  Some popular companies that do progressive web apps are – Ola, Flipkart, Alibaba, Twitter, and Pinterest.

2.    Blockchain

Thanks to Mr. Satoshi Nakamoti, who created and developed Bitcoin, Blockchain technology has gained prominence. Blockchain technology offers safe and secure online transactions while eliminating the necessity of intermediaries. Blockchain cannot be controlled by a single party and cannot be destroyed by disrupting parts of it. Secondly, the data of the network is public and available to everyone who needs it. Within few years block-chain may even take over the traditional supply chain system.

3.    Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)

Companies like Google, Samsung, and Microsoft are investing a huge amount in VR and AR technologies. You can offer an immersive experience of the virtual world to the users through VR. On the other hand, AR shows a glimpse of the virtual world in the real world while enhancing the user experience. In broad terms, VR creates independent digital worlds, while AR adds digital content to our reality. Some research shows that in 2019 the hype of augmented reality and virtual reality will grow high. Technological companies are striving to incorporate AR and VR to improve their web presence and increase their audience manifold.

4.    User Behavior Tracking

Digital marketers nowadays hugely depend on user behavior tracking.  Modern User Behaviour Tracking tools provide marketers a number of invaluable insights. Users can be tracked by user clicks, mouse movements, and scrolls, as well as the record of their activity to get a common idea of how a user interacts with the website. The company can also monitor how a user interacts with the form of the company’s website. Basically user behaviour tracking tools provide can track a user journey which can help the company to convert their leads to actual customers. The web provides multiple free and paid solutions for User Behaviour Tracking. Google Analytics is one of the popular tools among them. A few years back it would have been impossible if people thought about tracking their users and understanding their buying behavior. But now a company can easily track their leads and can convert them by tracking their user journey.

5.    Voice Search Optimization

Leading research firms are predicting that somewhere between 30-50 percent of all searches will be conducted via voice by 2020. Voice search technology is growing rapidly. Though the traditional search remains strong, nowadays people prefer to speak to assistances rather than type. Voice Search Optimization allows user search by asking a question to their smart device. Surprisingly people search and purchase products much faster in e-commerce than the manual type, which increases better user engagement to the brand.  Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, and Microsoft’s Cortana are the most popular voice optimization search at this point.

2019 is going to be another exciting year for new technologies for the web development industry. The best part of the web industry right now is that it is are brining new flavors and opening further dimensions on a consistent basis, which not only improving the way “things get done” but also directly affecting and improving our lifestyle. Users are getting more access and keep themselves “connected” more than ever before. Things that seemed impossible a few years ago don’t seem so anymore – the transitions and advances that took us decades is only taking months, weeks or even days. Such is the turbulent rise of technology.
